Happy New Year 2007! I hope this letter finds everyone healthy and happy and working on their New Year’s Resolutions.
Our year has started off with a bang. We placed our sweet Bonnie in her forever home to start the year off in a positive direction.
Then things got really interesting around here. We were contacted regarding a Great Dane that was to be owner surrendered. He had been boarded in a shelter for five months due to illness in the family. When we finally got him, it was truly a rescue situation. He was at least 50 lbs underweight, with skin and ear infections. To think these people were being paid to care for him. Giant Paw went to the rescue and got Bruiser! The next week we were contacted about Bruno, the Mastiff from the same shelter. This poor guy in his 10 years had never left the kennel!!! Off we were again. Bruno was scared to death of the car and it took five of us to load him and get him to his first vet visit. I am glad to report; both Bruiser and Bruno are in the forever homes! Thank you so much to the families that opened their hearts to these two sweet boys!
For Valentines week we received two wonderful Saint Bernards, Rose and Smooch. Read more about these two cuties on our website.
Mark your calendar for April 14th. Dr. Buck Willis of Austin has graciously invited Giant Paw Rescue to participate in a fundraiser event. There will be food, fun and prizes for everyone. More information to follow
Spring is just around the corner and we are busy with dogs. I am enclosing a “Wish List”, in this letter. We are in need of the following items: Shampoo, conditioner, XL dog beds, elevated dog bowls, toys and as always cash donations. If you can help out at all with any of these items please contact me at 512-524-3912 or simply mail to my mailing address located on my website.
